Direct3D Overrider is a third-party application that when used can customize your computer’s graphics settings in order to optimize the performance of Direct3D applications. Learn more about this software and how it works here. I took the liberty of creating a simple guide for this process, which I will be updating as Direct3D Overrider continues to evolve. This guide is not going to be a step-by-step tutorial, however I will go over what you need to do in order to get your computer running in a better state. _____________________________ The first thing that you should do is download and install Direct3D Overrider from [ HERE ].You can also patch your drivers from [ HERE ] so that you have the latest version of Direct3D Overrider. If you have never used or heard of this application before, please note that it will replace your current graphics settings in Windows with its own. This means that you will have to follow this guide each and every time you want to play a game. This program was tested on Windows 10, but in theory it should work fine in previous versions of Windows as well. Make sure that your computer is updated and you have the latest graphics drivers installed before proceeding with this guide. Open up Direct3D Overrider. You may get a prompt from your anti-virus software, if that happens please accept the application into your system. In the main screen of Direct3D Overrider, there are three drop down menus on the bottom of the window along with a ‘New Setting’ button on the bottom right corner of the screen. You will want to make sure that you are under the ‘Graphics’ tab before proceeding with this guide. _____________________________ The first thing that you should do is click on the ‘Graphics’ tab. After doing this, select the ‘Recommended Settings’ if it is not already selected. The three drop down menus at the bottom of this screen dictate what settings Direct3D Overrider will use for your video card if it detects something that is worthy of changing. This guide will go over each option, but I recommend reading through these settings thoroughly before making any changes unless it is something very obvious. IMPORTANT: The first thing you should do is click on the ‘Settings’ button to the right of the drop down menus. This will load a list of all of your hardware that Direct3D Overrider can access. If you have not used this software before, it is important that you keep this window open as now we can view what kind of hardware is compatible with Direct3D Overrider. _____________________________ If you have any lower-end graphics cards, there will likely be some settings that are unavailable to change.
