She has no idea how she would live without them and so stays with them while trying to find work. As she tries to adapt to the situation, she faces many challenges. The protagonist has no friends and struggles to live up to her aunt’s expectations of how much money should be coming in for food and rent every month, while still trying to eat healthily. Eventually, they move into a new apartment that is cheaper but comes without even one window or door that opens out, causing the protagonist even more turmoil. Eventually, her aunt finds a job for her but it is not the one she wanted. Finally, she takes up temporary employment at a resort that makes use of migrant workers. Her goal was to work there for six months before returning home to try to help out with the rent money. Soon, though, she finds herself growing attached to the people there and even falls in love with one of them. The film was released in Tamil on 14 November 2017 and received mixed reviews from critics comparing it to the 2017 Hindi film Raazi. The following are songs from the movie. Tamil Film Producers Council began to look for a director for "Thani Oruvan" in December 2015, and were in talks with Attakathi's Vignesh Shivan. He had already begun work on two scripts, but committed to another project after Gautham Menon became involved. In February 2016, Gautham Menon took over as director, and the film was announced as an official venture of Studio Green and distributed by Sun Pictures. He signed on Arvind Swami to play a police officer. In June 2016, Arvind Swami backed out from the project due to scheduling issues, and was replaced by Ajay Ghosh. Gautham Menon has clarified that this version of the film will be completely different from the previous scripts. Production began in Australia in March 2016, with a shoot taking place at a house in Sydney. The film moved to India in mid-July 2016 for further filming there, including one song scene at Mumbai's Mehboob Studio and two song scenes at Hyderabad's Ramoji Film City. In early August 2016, the team was seen filming a song at a studio in Chennai. The film completed its shoot in October 2016 and was sent for post-production. The film's soundtrack was composed by Anirudh Ravichander and released on 2 September 2017 by Sony Music India and Think Music India.
